hate final fantasy ix now and beat the rush

1.29.2000» Its all the rage nowadays to hate games. Popular games. The more popular games you hate, the cooler you are. Hell, if you hated every game but, say, some ass-suckfest like Blake Stone 3D, you'd be the internet equivalent of Fonzie.

However, I think it's getting a little out of hand, and I believe I finally have some proof to back that assertion up. Let me set the stage for you:

After a delay of nearly four months, Square finally holds its "Millenium" conference, where they, as expected, announced Final Fantasy IX. The first page to have the story was The Gaming Intelligence Agency. They jumped on that story like Zell on a hot dog, being the first to have the announcements on their website as well as coming to relevant IRC channels to announce it.

However, almost as... well... I think I will let this IRC log do the talking.

Shocking, isn't it? We can hate games based on a few sketches and some thirdhand accounts. Thats uber1337.
